Really happy — one small note on the cord

Yes — the Aurora works with any standard jar candle up to 4 inches in diameter, and any wax melt. Diptyque, Yankee, Bath & Body Works, homemade, drugstore: all of it. No proprietary pods, no subscriptions. Just set your existing candle underneath and go.
Yes. There is no open flame anywhere in the Aurora. The lamp head produces radiant heat, not fire. The exterior stays warm to the touch — similar to a low-wattage bulb — rather than dangerously hot. We still recommend placing it out of reach as you would any lamp or small appliance.
No — it does the opposite. Gentle overhead heat melts only the top surface of the wax, evenly, eliminating tunneling. Your candle's total life is extended by 2–3× compared to burning. The more you use the Aurora, the further your candle budget goes.
Very little. The Aurora uses a 50W halogen bulb — roughly the same wattage as an incandescent nightlight. At the US average electricity rate, running it 4 hours a day costs less than $1 per month. Compare that to the candle life it extends and the math is overwhelmingly in your favor.
The Aurora uses a standard 50W E12 candelabra base halogen bulb, which is included. When it eventually needs replacing (typically after 2,000+ hours), compatible bulbs are available at any hardware store for a few dollars. It is a standard, widely available bulb — not a proprietary replacement.
The Aurora is designed to be low-maintenance. Dust the arc and base with a soft cloth as needed. Because there is no combustion, there is no soot or smoke residue — the lamp head stays clean far longer than a candle holder would. If wax ever drips onto the base, let it cool completely and it lifts off cleanly.
